We just had this for dinner and it was sooo delicious! I love the coconut rice but the sauce on the beans is so tasty that I think plain rice will suffice (for a healthier option). I'll always been tempted the thought of having coconut rice now though.

Sounds like a sweet recipe, Frances (literally, I mean). I like green beans as a solo dish too, and here's how I've been doing it:

1. Mash together about a tsp of garlic and a tsp of fermented blackbeans.
2. Fry that for a short time, then add in greenbeans (250g). Coat them in the stuff.
3. Add a bit of chilli. Add about a tsp of sugar. Pour in a small amount of water (about 3 TBsp).
4. Simmer it all for a few minutes.
5. Done! Eat! (with rice).

Green bean flavour is highlighted; blackbeans, sugar, chilli etc = really nice mix of spicy flavour.
